In the town of New Hope, the coroner’s office faced increasing pathology costs and turnaround times. With overdoses on the rise and ever-increasing budgetary pressures further compounding the problem, the coroner’s office turned to Brevitest as a potential solution.
New Hope had two goals for Brevitest: the first was to use its rapid tox screen to confirm suspected overdoses and eliminate the need for full autopsies. The second was to use the Brevitest’s novel cardiac troponin test to determine if heart failure was a likely cause of death in cases with no preexisting heart conditions or history of drug use.
